Welcome to my first blog post!
I am all about Authenticity, Culture, Leadership and Innovation – these will be my areas of focus. I am passionate about bringing people together to achieve great things, and these areas are essential!
But first an introduction. My name is Dean Hallett, born and raised in Los Angeles. I have an incredible wife, two amazing children, an amazing son-in-law, a wonderful soon-to-be-daughter-in-law, and a phenomenal grandson! I have so many blessings in my life, and am incredibly grateful for everything. That doesn’t mean everything is always rosy. I have encountered many challenges over the course of my life, and they have helped shape the person I am today. I am an avid skier and golfer, and dabble in triathlons as motivation to fight against Father Time!
After completing a combined 27 years as an entertainment industry executive, and navigating the halls as a senior executive for both Fox and Disney, the time is now right for me to pass along what I have learned about organizational culture, and how essential an open and collaborative culture is to long-term success.
In order to thrive in a world of continual disruption, an organization needs to evolve and constantly align its team around the organization’s mission. Over my entire entertainment career, I have created alignment across separate vertical divisions and disparate disciplines to collaborate and achieve broader goals.
In my most recent role, I ran point in transforming studio culture into a more collaborative, transparent organization where teams united in achieving larger, enterprise-wide goals, and helped position the studio as a home for the best talent in the industry. As a result of that effort, the studio team is better positioned to take on challenges in the disruptive landscape the industry faces today.
