Dean Hallett

Creating a more collaborative and innovative culture in your workplace
Experienced, authentic and hands-on approach to leadership training

Dean Hallett brings a unique blend of talent, experience, and character to any professional environment–be it as a time-tested senior executive in the entertainment industry or as a well-respected leadership coach dedicated to working within organizations across sectors.

With a passion for bringing people together to achieve great things, Dean has focused on organizational design and effectiveness for companies such as Twentieth Century Fox and The Walt Disney Studios. His approach has created alignment across separate vertical divisions and disparate disciplines to drive collaboration and achieve broader goals.

During his 17 years at Fox, Dean conceived and directed a number of highly successful programs focused on leadership and corporate culture. The impact of these programs on the organization inspired Dean to expand his approach beyond the studio environment. In 2018, Dean formed Hallett Leadership to help other companies drive culture transformation, inspire corporate collaboration, and invest in accelerated leadership training for high potential employees primarily through the Accelerated Leadership Program (ALP).

Prior to Fox, Dean was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for The Walt Disney Studios, a position he held since 1999. Dean also served as Senior Vice President, Planning and Control for Disney, driving a range of entertainment integration initiatives. Dean moved to Disney from Anthony Industries, Inc. (now K2, Inc.), where he was Group Controller, after spending more than seven years with Ernst & Whinney.

A native of Los Angeles, California, Dean received his degree in business administration from the University of Southern California (USC) and is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He is a member of the Board of Leaders for the USC Marshall School of Business, Treasurer and board member of the LA Promise Fund, and board member for both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and the American Cinematheque.

Dean is an avid skier, runner, triathlete and golfer, and spends as much time as possible outdoors and with family. He is a firm believer that a balanced lifestyle is critical to success, and incorporates these values into his coaching and leadership training.
